The Job
Working on multiple projects, you will design new products from concept through development and testing to final production and modify existing designs.
Key Tasks;
- Embedded PIC microcontroller design and development in Assembler and C
- Prototyping and Breadboarding
- PCB design and layout
- Ensure designs meet CE marking requirements, including EMC and Low Voltage Directive
- Identifying material cost savings and improving speed to market
- Specifying Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Test and validation work internally and with third-party approval bodies
About You
You should have a good mix of the following skills, qualifications and experience;
- HNC/HND/Degree Qualified
- Circuit Design – analogue and digital as well as PIC microcontrollers – using Altium schematic capture and layout
- Program and debug code for PIC 8-bit & 16-bit microcontrollers in Assembler and C
- Design for ease of manufacture and assembly
- Able to benchmark / reverse engineer and analyse circuits
- Experience with test and instrumentation equipment.
Desirable
- XC8 & XC16 Compilers
- Microchip development tools
- PC-Lint and SIL compliance
- Knowledge of hazardous location electronics
- Design of electronics used in wide temperature range products.
